Marla J. Kinney began her career at Mpls.St.Paul Magazine,one of the country’s oldest and most successful city magazines, where she held a succession of editorial positions, including Managing Editor. Later she moved to corporate publishing at Hanley Wood Marketing, producing everything from magazines to corporate histories for such clients as FedEx. In 2009, Kinney briefly returned to Mpls.St.Paul Magazine as Executive Editor.
In addition to her work with the Minneapolis-based nonprofit Doing Good Together, Kinney assists in the Department of Prints and Drawings at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, contributing her editorial and research skills to a number of catalogue and exhibition projects. A Michigan native, she is a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., and earned an M.S.J. from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
