2016 is off to a great start at Round Earth Media!
We are hard at work on a ground-breaking series in Spanish for radio stations in Mexico and Central America — the countries so many immigrants are fleeing.
Only Round Earth can claim to reach audiences in the U.S. and in the countries where the stories are actually taking place.
Our eight-part radio series in Spanish builds on the Latin American tradition of using storytelling as part of educational radio programming and will resemble a telenovela with a cliffhanger ending every week.
The project is being led by Conrad Fox, Round Earth’s Spanish language editor. Seven reporters in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador – many are producing radio for the first time – have contributed to the creation of this series.
One station broadcasting our radio series is Radio Progreso, our partner in Honduras. Radio Progreso reporters worked in partnership with Round Earth’s U.S. reporter Marlon Bishop who had this to say in a message to us from Honduras:
“My partners are brilliant, brave, and easy-going. Radio Progreso is a truly remarkable operation, doing so much with few resources.”
We are proud and honored to be working with such dedicated journalists. Look for our radio series in Spanish — coming soon!
